Brief:
Me and my Classmate Irene have been assigned to make a comic zine from the old nursery rhyme “a Goosey Goosey Gander”. For the comic we had to make 8 pages containing imagery and lines retaining to the rhyme. We decided on splitting the work between the two of us equally and do 4 pages each of the comic while matching eachothers graphical design abilities. If there was something one of us didnt know the other would teach it.
Initial Ideas:

Photoshoot:
We wanted a mix of our own imagery and images we would edit from online.

Typography:

Some typo choices we made. We did script fonts to go with the more classical feel of the rhyme.
Irene’s Work:

For making elements in the comic we both used alot of gradient maps and halftones to keep consistant to eachother.

we tried adding page breaks and segements to make it feel more like a comic and not just a graphic novel.

trying to have that outlandish feel to the comic to make it comedic.

Jack Work:

we used alot of yellows and blues as they symbolized worry and weary.

keeping the strong yellows and blues. Yellow was also a color found to represent disloyalty which we used to run with the theme of adultrly we decided on.

During formative we where told to have the stairs face towards the next page to lore the eye across the comic.

Now doing the oposite effect to take the eyes out of the comic showing its the end.
