The hardest thing to do for this project was the black rockwell R which required very little in the way of seams and had to fit very precise measurements. I ended up making a map of the letter and then laser cutting and sending it to others which asked for it. This helped save time on cutting and measurements but still left an awful long time on folding and sticking.
For making the pattern i took the fold from this old origami ball tutorial and expanded it across a A2 sheet of paper. This proved quite effective.
Paper Doll:
For this Design i took the brief super literal. I took many photos of myself and placed/warped them into a net i made in illustrator based on other similar nets i found on Pinterest.
i outfitted the doll with holes in which rope gets threaded instead of glue being spread. This was to make the doll Rag and floppy. I used red string to do this which is a running joke in my friend group centered around a specific image of me with red!
After a formative i was told my nets design was quite bland so i decided to add in designs based on the string seen across the doll and to bring across that its a ragdoll.
